“I’ve never had much confidence in the online shopping scene, it lacks the tangible experience of choosing a product, especially something new or unique. Living in the Northern region of Alberta, with the economy shut down, not even a 5-hour drive to Edmonton would have accommodated my search for a meditation chair to support my daily practice – yet, waiting was not an option. Searching online for the right meditation support was quite the chore, until I stumbled into the Stillness Room. The chairs displayed on their website seemed perfect – too perfect. I had lots of questions about the product, its origin, durability, comfort and accessibility too – that matters when you are 6’2 and the chairs sit 11 inches off the ground. So, I called and spoke with Dale, it was our first conversation. My questions were answered in the first 15 minutes of our conversation, although we talked for 60. I thanked Dale and said I would get back to him the next day. I Shouldn’t have said that, I tend not to buy on impulse, especially for something as important as this. It was a big purchase – a big decision. Eventually, I called Dale back 3-weeks later. By then I had my sights set on two Serenity Meditation Chairs and one Tea Table, but not just for me, I couldn’t think of a better way to invite my family into the space I was creating. Dale confirmed their availability and we spoke about the logistics in getting them to me safely, of course we talked for another 40 minutes, again about the practice and benefits of meditation. Dale got it! He knew very well what these chairs represented to me before I did. I was looking to create a space with intention. To truly embrace the practice beyond the idea of mediation and commit to doing the real work on a daily basis. The beauty of meditation is when you find your “aha moment”, my “aha” wasn’t “am I willing to make such a big purchase?” – it was “am I worth it?” The chairs and tea table arrived within two days after placing my order. Absolutely beautiful craftmanship and quality product, well beyond my expectations and well worth the price. They will serve my meditation practice very well and have already proven to be the perfect seat for conversation and reading with my family – maybe they too will find the stillness someday. The meditation space is complete, I understand now, it really is a beautiful space for its interior design; however, I’m not referring to this in its tangible form. Thank you, Dale and the Stillness Room, – I am grateful for your hospitality and service.”
